Children's Ministry

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power and the wonders He has done... Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget His deeds, but would keep His commands.

PSALM 78:4-7

Vision for Children

At Vintage Grace Church we treasure our children because “sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him” (Psalm  127:3).  Jesus himself cherished children and blessed them, saying, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 10:14).  Therefore, it is a joy to serve and pray for the next generation.

The parents of  Vintage Grace Church's children are primarily responsible under God to bring up their children in the training and instruction of our Lord.  Our role in children’s ministry is  to reinforce the parents’ teaching through a range of children’s classes.

Our goal is to teach God’s Word faithfully and model authentic Christianity for our children.  We pray that by God’s grace, over the years, all the children in our trust “ will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor”  (Isaiah 61:3)

Children’s Church

Children's church is offered for ages 3-8.  We are currently using the curriculum "Jesus, What A Savior"  from Children Desiring God (www.childrendesiringgod.org).  This particular curriculum is a study on redemption. Children participating in children's church will join their families during the first part of our corporate worship time and then be dismissed to their classes.

The last Sunday of each month, children ages 3 and up will attend the full service to encourage family worship and prepare the child for corporate worship in the future.  Childcare will be provided for children 0– 2 yr as soon as the family arrives. These classes will combine free play time with songs, Bible stories, games, and crafts designed to introduce the children to our great God.

Finally, children 9 and up will remain in the main worship service with their parents every week and encouraged to serve the church body on Sunday mornings.

Child Protection Policy

All children’s ministry caregivers and teachers are members of the church who have been carefully screened with a background check and fingerprints before beginning their service in the children's ministry.

All children from birth to age 7 must be signed into their class by a parent/guardian.  Each child will have a number/name tag to stick on their clothing and bag.  The parent/guardian of the child is required to wear the numbered tag that corresponds to their child until they have signed their child out of class.
